Biography

Award-winning composer, Dan Beyer’s musical journey has always been a diverse one, a featured soloist at 10 years old on trumpet, moving to guitar at age 12, and playing in rock bands as a lead guitarist from 16 years of age, eventually playing for festivals of thousands and opening for bands such as The Violent Femmes in his early 20s.

After finishing a Bachelor of Music in jazz studies, guitar performance at the University of Denver, Beyer made the move to Los Angeles in 2001. While completing the scoring for motion pictures program at UCLA, he took a job assisting Hans Zimmer at the composer collective Remote Control in Santa Monica. Beyer also began collaborations with Emmy-winning composers Danny Pelfrey and Rie Sinclair, eventually leading to Emmy win for outstanding original music for the drama series Guiding Light in 2007.

After 15 years of film, trailer, and television work, Beyer’s music continues to be an eclectic mix of styles. His television work has spanned over 60 TV series’, most notably the 15-time Emmy-winning series The Amazing Race, and the FX series Chozen. 

Beyer’s work has also been commissioned for numerous trailer campaigns by Paramount, Warner Bros, Universal, and many more for films such at Blade Runner 2049, Valerian, The Mummy, Interstellar, and Star Trek Beyond.
